Powering Blackwell Reference Online
Developed with Semantico, specialists in online publishing solutions, Blackwell's new library of humanities and social sciences will, at launch, include 300 volumes, among them the award-winning Blackwell Companions and Handbooks and the entire Blackwell Encyclopedias of Management and Sociology. Many hundreds more books will be added to this unique resource over the next few years.
The new reference library has been built using SIPP, the Semantico Information Publishing Platform. This is a suite of web services for building and managing online content, and is the same platform that was used successfully to bring the Blackwell Compass sites online earlier this year.
Semantico director Brad Scott said: "We understand that their decision to move software development to third party suppliers was a strategic change in direction for Blackwell and are proud and delighted that they have now chosen both of our core offers - our SIPP web services platform and our SAMS access management system."
