Statesman's Yearbook Online launched

We're very pleased to announce that the re-worked Statesman's Yearbook Online launched sucessfully today. Palgrave Macmillan chose the SIPP platform to deliver their re-working of this popular resource because SIPP allowed them to take control of the publishing process.

Palgrave were able to take full advantage of SAMS' support for subscription tokens, which enable the creation and management of unique access codes for pre-paid access. This allowed Palgrave to include free single user access with each print copy of the Statesman's Yearbook, whilst SAMS manages the user registration process and provides an effective path for upgrading institutions to multiple concurrency site licences.

Blackwell Compass relaunched

Blackwell Publishing first published their Compass sites in 2002. Conceived as subject-specific journals with a topical edge aimed at researchers and students with additional content discovery tools, the History and Literature Compass sites had initially been developed in-house at Blackwell.

Following an initiative to move software development activities to third party suppliers, Blackwell engaged Semantico to rebuild the sites, including the new Philosophy Compass. A proof of concept project was undertaken in the autumn of 2005, and the new sites launched in Q1 2006.

Utilising Semantico's SIPP platform solution, the Compass sites extended the platform to include support for journal content, and also added additional features for authors and contributors.

November 2004

Europa World Plus is available as an expanded version of Europa World online. It now contains The Europa World Year Book plus the nine volumes in the Regional Surveys of the World series. Semantico has extended the online platform to allow customers to select these ten basic products in any combination to create their own tailored subscription.
