Marketing Executive (part time)
Semantico is looking for an experienced, well-organised marketing professional to help take it onto the next stage of development though implementation of its ambitious B2B marcomms plan. Working to the Marketing Director, you will help plan, schedule and execute a range of activities from events to online, including organising exhibition appearances, regular publishing to the company website and print production of new collateral for the salesforce.
The position is part time, three days per week, with potential to become a full-time position as the company develops.
Responsibilities
General:
- Implementation of Semantico’s marketing strategy and marcomms plan under the direction of the Marketing Director
- Planning, scheduling and execution of marketing programmes so as to deliver on the Marketing Communications Plan while remaining within budget limits
- Recording and tracking of results and ROI from marketing activity, and preparation of reports as directed by the Marketing Manager
- Liaising with and managing external suppliers and internal production staff for supply of graphics, web design, media assets and IT services used in marketing programmes
PR:
- Liaising with Sales and Account Management to identify PR opportunities within client accounts – e.g. press releases on wins, launches, etc. and to secure client permission to release
- Drafting press releases, case studies and other materials as required, managing releases through clearing while observing established process and sign-offs, managing send-out of press release and maintaining an accurate, up-to-date media list
- Working with internal experts within the company to assist in positioning Semantico positively to its target customers as a leader of thought and opinion in online publishing through PR, speaker opps, website publishing, email newsletters, etc.
Website:
- Drafting, updating and publishing of copy to the Semantico website
- Liaising with graphic designers, web designers and other internal and external suppliers to supply media assets, user interface design and development for the Semantico website
Collateral:
- Production management of collateral (copy, design, print production) to represent Semantico offering and brand and support the sales force
- Drafting of copy for brochures, datasheets, etc. and management of print and design suppliers as required
Events:
- Event project management including supplier management and liaison around events
- Rostering of and communication with Sales and Account Management personnel to man company stands at events
- Capture and tracking of leads generated at events, entry into database and generation of reports on event ROI
S&M database:
- Maintenance of customer database as a resource for new business prospecting and account management including data and list entry, routine data processing, data cleaning, reports generation, etc.
Tactical Campaigns (e-shot or direct mail):
- Liaising with Semantico sales force to identify opportunities for tactical campaigns, drafting of copy, list selection, print production or email send-out
- Scheduling and planning of tactical campaigns
- Liaising with production resources for html design of tactical e-mail campaigns
Internal:
- Maintenance, updating and administration of internal knowledge resources (e.g. information about past projects, staff cvs, awards, industry body qualifications, etc) in so far as they impact sales and marketing activities, to make such resources readily available and accessible for promotional and bid writing activities
- Supporting internal communications with staff as required
Brand:
- Protection and maintenance of the Semantico brand and sub-brands in accordance with brand guidelines
- Liasing with internal and external suppliers for updating of brand guidelines and resources as required

Knowledge/experience
Essential:
- Awareness of principles of business-to-business marketing in a service industry
- Awareness of principles of database marketing and direct marketing
- Awareness of principles of marketing communications
- Awareness of principles of online marketing
- Competence in use of key software packages – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Salesforce.com, etc.
- Basic knowledge of tools and technologies for manipulation of digital media assets (images, audio, animations, video)
Desirable:
- Experience of publishing market
- Mastery of key software packages, plus competence in one or more of the extended set of marketing-related software packages, e.g. Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark, Indesign, Flash, Acrobat, Project, Visio, etc.
- Knowledge and experience of marketing using Web 2.0 technologies – blogging, social networking, rss, etc.
