Semantico are a successful software development company creating award-winning websites and products for multi-national publishers. The company offices are located in the vibrant centre of Brighton.

As an expanding company, we are looking to recruit staff members for exciting roles including graduate web software developers. The role involves the full life-cycle of software development from new projects to maintenance and updates.

About you

This role is intended for those starting out in the industry. We welcome applications from final year students to start in summer 2008.

As the successful candidate, you will be a graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering or an equivalent qualification covering software development skills. You will possess the following key attributes:

  • Java Software development skills including design, programming, testing and maintenance

  • Good communication skills in written and spoken English

  • Ability to work well in a team or alone

  • Desire to learn new skills and keep up with technologies

Any of the following skills and knowledge will also be beneficial:

  • Java technology knowledge such as J2SE, J2EE programming, Servlets and JSP

  • Web development skills such as HTML/CSS/JavaScript, AJAX, knowledge of the web architecture and technologies

  • XML knowledge such as XSLT, XPath, XQuery, and XML databases

  • SQL Databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server

  • Perl development skills

About the opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding company based in the highly desirable city of Brighton. As well as a competitive salary (£18k to £20k), we offer:
