Who we are
Semantico is proud of its roots in publishing, and its instinctive ability to translate technology into successful online publishing solutions. This and the built-in flexibility of the core Semantico products enable the company to specify and deliver unique and affordable custom solutions on short timescales.
Semantico is led by:
Richard Padley, Managing Director
Richard worked on book and electronic production at Macmillan from 1984-1999. His interest and evangelism for the world wide web lead to the ground breaking publication of the Grove Dictionary of Art online in 1997, followed by the Grove Online Dictionary of Opera in 1998. The work involved ranged from re-engineering editorial workflows through to running focus groups with academics and library professionals and creating and testing the information architecture models which later became de-facto standards for online reference. Richard has a BSc in Computer Science and lives in Brighton.
Brad Scott, Account Director
Brad devised, managed and published a number of large-scale digital projects at Routledge from 1994-2000. His work there covered the planning of data clean-up strategies, market analysis and many other aspects of the digital publishing process. Brad joined Semantico in April 2001 and provides account and project management, as well as data and publishing consultancy services. From 1998 to 2003 he served on the organising committee of the Digital Resources for the Humanities conferences.
