Richard Padley
Managing Director
Richard Padley is one of Semantico’s founders and has 25 years experience in digital publishing. Before founding Semantico in 1999 Richard worked for Macmillan where he developed the online versions of the Grove Dictionaries of Art and Music. Before this he specialised in building workflow tracking systems for multi volume reference works, SGML content management systems and typesetting. Richard has a degree in computer science from Sussex University and lives in Brighton.
Rob Virkar-Yates
Marketing and Communications Director
Rob has more than 20 years’ digital experience; over 10 years experience as a user experience practitioner and 4 years as a strategist and planner. He was one of the UK’s first dedicated Information Architects when working for Organic (UK) in 1998-99. Rob has worked for many global consumer brands across digital, brand and retail in the UK & Europe, India, Russia, China and the US.
Colin Caveney
Sales Director
Colin has 11 years experience in developing and delivering interactive digital media. Colin joined us in 2005 and has worked on many of our large scale systems. Colin will provide an escalation path for project issues and evaluation of high-level risks and project deliverables.
Terry Hulbert
Business Development Director
Terry has 20 years experience in academic publishing. He is involved with all business areas across Semantico and has specific responsibilities to develop and deliver worldwide strategic growth, particularly in the United States. He is also responsible for the product development of Semantico’s Scolaris platform.
Barry Dunne
Business Development Director, Journals
Barry is a well-respected industry professional with nearly 20 years’ experience in managing global accounts in the publishing and scientific information industries. He is also an experienced sales performance consultant and business development leader, with specialist knowledge in the journals sector.
Declan Newman
Technical Director
Declan joined Semantico as a Software Engineer in 2005, working on many of Semantico’s most prestigious projects. He was heavily involved in the design and implementation of the ORCID project and now heads-up a talented development team of over 30, concentrating on technical strategy, building the development team and ensuring the quality of each project meets the high standards clients have come to expect.
